Dion was suffering from brain, tongue and throat cancer.
Her husband and former manager, Rene Angelil, died on Thursday aged 73. Angelil was her manager for decades, molding her from a French-speaking Canadian ingénue into one of the world’s most successful singers.
She has not made any recent comments on the site about her brother.
Celine Dion’s brother Daniel has died.
Celine’s sister Claudette also said in a recent interview with Le Journal de Montréal that the whole family were at his bedside and that “He was ready and no longer suffers”. “He was the eighth child of Therese and Adhémar Dion, brother of Celine”.
Earlier in the week Celine Dion lost her husband to throat cancer.
“He will be remembered as a gentle man, generous and kind, an unprecedented visionary, a modern Pygmalion, a Renaissance man”, she said in a Facebook post. “He is 59 years old, very young to be the end of life”.
Celine Dion performs at the Colosseum on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015, in Caesars Palace. On Friday, January 15, an insider told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that Daniel could die “at any moment”.
According to Billboard, Angelil’s funeral will be held at Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, with open hours to the public available in A Chapel of Rest from January 21 to January 22. Even when word came of this illness taking a turn for the worse, there were no comments made by Celine, she did however request privacy while she and her family grieve their losses.
