Of Daniel’s struggle, Celine’s sister Claudette told the Journal Of Montreal on Friday, “It’s very painful”. He had been fighting brain, tongue and throat cancer.
The following day a memorial service will be held for her late brother, with a formal funeral a few days after that, the family spokesman said.
The pair first met when Celine was just 12-years-old and began dating when she was 19 and he was 45.
