Celine Dion speaks for 1st time about late husband
People magazine reports Dion, 47, was brought to tears during her show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, which she called her “home away from home”. She praised Angelil for being kind and never hating a soul.
During her nearly 20-minute speech, Dion spoke of Angelil and his dedication to her career. “And especially in this handsome theatre which many years ago was one of his dreams come true”.
According to ABC News, she added: ‘On behalf of my family, thank you again for being here with us this evening for this attractive tribute. “Rene, I love you so much”.
There will be musical performances but at press time no details were available. Dion claimed her husband of 21 years was coming through to her via the audience members, stating that she could feel the love he had for her shining through each of them. People gathered to celebrate the life of her late husband and manager credited with striking the deals that have defined her status as one of the most popular voices in the world, from saying “yes” to her defining hit from the “Titanic” when critics doubted the movie to her glitzy Las Vegas Strip residency. Celine referred to him as “the only boyfriend I ever had”. The funeral was broadcast nationally, and the singer mourned her husband’s passing alongside millions of fans. The couple had three sons, 14-year-old Rene-Charles and 5-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy, who were present at the ceremony, along with Angelil’s three children by previous partners. Angelil loved his family, gambling and dining and entertaining.
