Celtic close in on Kolo Toure signing
The 36-year-old Ivorian was released by Liverpool upon the expiration of his contract this summer, and is a free agent as a result.
Celtic are on the verge of completing a deal for Kolo Toure to join the club, reports BBC Sport.
Former Liverpool defender Kolo Toure has arrived in Glasgow ahead of an anticipated move to Celtic and football Twitter is delighted.
“I would think Wednesday would be too soon”, Rodgers said.
“I’m here to try to be ready and help the team as much as I can”. He played in the Europa League final, and he was outstanding in the big games when I was there.
“The Champions League is a great competition to play, I’m looking forward it it. We will give everything we got to qualify”.
“Obviously, it’s far to travel and it’s a plastic pitch, so we just need to make sure we are ready for that test. We are travelling a couple of days early so we can get there and get a feel for the place”.
The situation for the Scottish champions is exacerbated by the fact that Jozo Simunovic and Dedryck Boyata are injured while Efe Ambrose was dropped for the second leg against Lincoln Red Imps.
He joined Manchester City in 2009 for £14 million, winning the 2012 Premier League title, before he signed for Liverpool in 2013. “We need to wait and see, there’s work going on behind the scenes”.
