Cena, Styles, Orton Join Ambrose on WWE Smackdown

This is huge! Then Charlotte then got picked for RAW while SmackDown’s second pick was AJ Styles.

There was a lot to take in. In addition, SmackDown drafted Becky Lynch, Natalya, Naomi, Alexa Bliss, Eva Marie, and Carmella. Shane says she had to marry a WWE Superstar to stay relevant, and Bryan says “Yes” they will make SmackDown bigger than RAW. It’s another feather in the cap for one of the most athletic and charismatic wrestlers today.

The segment that followed the second match was a amusing and engaging crisscrossing affair that involved Enzo Amore & Big Cass, John Cena, The Club, and The New Day. In addition, tag teams will only count as one pick (unless a brand decides it only wants one member of the team) and there will be a total of six selections made from the NXT roster, creating intrigue as to which NXT stars will be getting an opportunity on the WWE stage.

Raw selected Charlotte – the first indicator that brand would have the better half of the women’s division. That is something we are entirely here for.

For weeks, the WWE Draft was highly anticipated among fans. Instead of featuring fights, the WWE will hold a draft between the executives at Monday Night Raw and SmackDown. The good man is taking it in stride though, calling himself the “hottest free agent” and “wildcard” in wrestling today. That certainly ends the questions about whether Balor would be elevated to the main roster.

There’s also a chance Sasha Banks will reveal who is fighting with her in a tag team match at Battleground.

Raw airs at 8 p.m. ET on the USA Network. I feel like I already know what I’m going to get with Raw’s roster, but SmackDown has greater potential.

Tonight is the last episode of Monday Night Raw (and WWE television in general) before the WWE Draft tomorrow night.

It’s all change in WWE at the moment as commentators get a change up too. They have worked together as a tag team in NXT.

We started with the unveiling of the new Raw and Smackdown General Managers. This will be the first time we see Orton since his injury, and Orton is scheduled to compete at SummerSlam in August against Brock Lesnar. All the men/groups were entertaining in their own way, but the one thing that stuck out the most was how Cena played up that he had no idea what Enzo was saying, and didn’t get the “How you doing?” chant.

While the main event featured a title match between Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, the biggest news of the night happened at the very beginning. The Tuesday night show still has the (men’s) gold. But he is still eligible to be drafted and he is expected to be a top draft pick.

Smackdown’s likely first pick would be current WWE World Heavyweight champion Dean Ambrose. Meaning, after Sunday’s Battleground pay-per-view, “The Club” known as Styles, Anderson, and Gallows will be no more. I also expect the brand split to separate this two rivals on Tuesday.
