Chandler Jones apologizes for ‘stupid mistake,’ is focused on KC
I think Chandler was very much the man when he came out and said, “I did something stupid” and apologized.
Jones has been in the news for all the wrong reasons after the news broke the New England Patriots defensive end needed medical attention Sunday morning, reportedly for a bad reaction to synthetic marijuana. One officer went to Jones’ home and said he noticed the smell of burnt marijuana, he said.
There weren’t any narcotics in his possession, cops said, as they spoke to Jones, who was “polite, cooperative and respectful”. After being evaluated by police, he was transported by ambulance to Norwood Hospital, where he was admitted and released later on Sunday. Without warning or provocation, Jones got down on his knees, with his hands behind his head.
Patriots coach Bill Belichick said at his Thursday press conference that the health and safety of his players was his top priority, but didn’t say whether Jones’ usage would be affected as a result.
“I want to apologize to all the fans and everyone for the support”, he said. In his report, officer David Fosaldo said he saw an individual with a muscular build, over six feet tall, and long arms go through the cruiser lot towards the building’s back entrance for police in a hurried fashion. “It was quite evident that Mr. Jones was desperately seeking our assistance, and he had certainly not committed any crimes – nor had he violated any laws or town by-laws”. “We’re focusing on Kansas City”.
Chandler declined to answer any questions with specificity, instead saying he “understand the question” but was just focusing on being the best possible player he can be.
“We’ll find out on Saturday”, the coach said dismissively. Each and every day, all I can focus on is Kansas City. Sure enough, Jones was on the field, given an opportunity to redeem himself… at least in the eyes of the New England faithful. “That might be easier for all of us”. He then sidestepped nine more questions about Jones.
Jones: “I understand the question, but right now my main focus is trying to hone in on Kansas City”. “The rest of it, I’m done talking about”.
