Change to a system of virtual electors

The president/vice-president team that had the majority of the electoral votes would be the president-elect and vice president-elect.

With Clinton becoming the fifth person in history to win the popular vote but lose the presidency, many have started questioning the Electoral College as an anachronism.

Was Trump’s victory among the most surprising in history? Yes.

Suppose presidential candidates engaged in a national election instead of one focused on the outcome in each state: The airwaves would be even more inundated with ads in a campaign waged nearly entirely in the media. While these electors are normally pledged to vote for whomever their respective state voted for in the actual election, many have claimed that they may not be voting for Donald Trump.

Firstly, if the college did not exist, the campaign would have been run completely different. If a candidate spent his or her time campaigning only in big cities or states with large populations, they could likely win the popular vote easily. Electors for Washington should be 39 (three times 13).

The 538 national electors meet December 19 in their state capitals. Ten state legislatures and the District of Columbia, representing 165 electoral votes, have agreed. It is expected to be an event of pomp and party celebration, with no surprises.

They truly are the political elites. We are not a Democracy we are a Constitutional Republic. Elections have consequences and your candidate lost. Those previous elections were 1824, 1876, 1888, and 2000.

America is the only democracy where the citizens do not directly elect their leader.

Even so, it’s doubtful such a high percentage of undocumented immigrants would risk breaking the law and potentially drawing attention to themselves, according to some political scientists’ research.

Texas’ elector Alex Kim, who also says he has received threats, told the USA media that he responds with a simple message: “You may all go to hell, and I shall go to Texas”. “In other words, to vote for Hillary or for someone else”.

I think you get my drift.

Trump received about 4,000 votes more than Clinton in Racine County.

That gives small states like Wyoming, Alaska and even Kansas a “senate bonus” because they get two additional electoral votes, regardless of their population.

The Electoral College ensures candidates listen to both Idaho farmers and Hollywood moguls.

“This year, for the first time in the 49 years Gallup has asked about it, less than half of Americans want to replace the Electoral College with a popular vote system”, the release noted. “However, in 14 of the states in Trump’s column, they can vote for Hillary Clinton without any legal penalty if they choose”. In fairness, she isn’t simply winning it, she’s winning it by a historic margin of 2.5 million votes and counting.
