Channing Tatum on G.I. Joe: “I hate that movie”

Channing Tatum with Dwayne Johnson in G.I. “I fucking hate that movie”, adding that the only reason he did the film was because he was contractually obligated to do so. He in fact hated it and didn’t even wanted to be a part of the movie. “I was pushed into doing that movie”, Tatum told Stern.

Speaking with Howard Stern on SiriusXM, Tatum opened up about disliking his stint in “G.I”. And Joe Manganiello, who I went to college with, was like, ‘Matt, you should sing something.’ And Channing was like, ‘Yeah!

Tatum also revealed that he wanted to play Snake Eyes but the studio didn’t allow him to refuse the leading role. “Joe script, that’s what you get, or you just get another action movie or something”.

We know there’s a sort of “brain trust” assembled at Sony to extend the Ghostbusters series into a new franchise, with creative involvement from Dany Ackroyd, Ivan Reitman, and Joe and Anthony Russo, writer Drew Pearce, and Tatum and his partners Reid Carolin and Peter Kiernan.

For the moment, Tatum thinks his remake is on hold. Finally, Paramount called him to fulfill his contract with “G.I”. “There’s a lot of people doing a lot of things on Ghostbusters. Not too many opportunities happen for us, especially being in Arkansas because it’s not the mecca for entertainment,” Sergeant said.
