Charles meets Australia’s republican PM Malcolm Turnbull
The prince and the prime minister are due to hold talks later but first attended a national Remembrance Day ceremony at the Australian War Memorial joining hundreds of guests commemorating the Commonwealth country’s war dead.
At the Australian War Memorial in the capital, the royals mingled with the crowd and laid wreaths at a solemn Remembrance Day service.
Sky News states that the Governor-General Peter Cosgrove and Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull are among the dignitaries who attended.

The six-day royal visit follows a move to remove knights and dames from Australia’s national honours system, which the ardent republican leader said were “not appropriate” in the modern age. Later Camilla will visit a truffle farm while Charles inspects the National Museum before reuniting at the National Arboretum to plant a tree.
