Charlie Sheen diagnosed after split

Magic Johnson has praised Charlie Sheen for breaking his silence on battling HIV and is hopeful he’ll “fight the disease”. He said during his Today show interview that some of his sex partners threatened to reveal his HIV to the world if he didn’t pay them a lot of money. I’m always here [for him, ] but he’s an addict.

The actor said he chose to come out clean about his diagnosis to put a stop “to this barrage of attacks and sub-truths and very harmful and mercurial stories that are about me that threaten the health of so many others”.

She said Sheen’s disclosure may help better inform the American public not just on prevention, but on the nature of HIV transmission.

“I was the doctor for her boyfriend, we called in other doctors and they felt the risk of transmission if she took the prophylaxis and he had undetectable level was miniscule, “Huizenga explained”.

The disclosure was the latest chapter in Sheen’s headline-seizing history.

Both TMZ and Us Weekly have sources that claim Sheen didn’t know he was HIV positive when he was with Olson, it was only after they broke up that he found out.

Despite the sudden news coming as a big surprise to Bree Olson, the 29-year-old is happy to confirm she doesn’t have HIV.

He did not address when, and by whom, he may have been infected.

He hopes Sheen will now also become an advocate following his interview on USA morning show Today on Tuesday (17Nov15), during which the actor revealed he was diagnosed with HIV four years ago. He said that primary issues in civil litigation are whether a person knows or has reason to know if he or she is infected, and then whether they disclosed that fact to a sexual partner.
