Charlie Sheen says he has been HIV-positive for four years
The Center in Orlando on North Mills Avenue provides services to those who are HIV positive and free testing seven days a week.
He said one reason for going public with his condition was to put a stop to shakedowns from prostitutes and others who threatened to out him. Sheen said he preferred natural condoms, which prevent only pregnancy, to latex condoms, which many men say reduce sexual pleasure.
On Tuesday, Sheen suggested his actions might help others. However, Sheen could have made such an allegation in numerous other jurisdictions, they said. “I guarantee he got it [HIV] from one of these girls”.
After Charlie Sheen confirmed on the Today show that he’s HIV-positive, the Two and a Half Men star received support and best wishes from some of his famous friends, including Spin City co-star Heather Locklear.
Former madam Anna Gristina claimed Sheen would frequently use her former agency between 2009 and 2010, and often asked her girls if they could hook him up with any transsexuals. Sheen said he has had unprotected sex with two partners since finding out he is HIV positive, and that both were aware of his diagnosis and under the care of his doctor. “People have to take the drugs every day”.
Sheen said he was not “entirely sure” how he had contracted the virus. The 50-year-old relayed that he’s struggled to take rehab centres seriously in the past because the Alcoholics Anonymous manual was ” written for normal people, people that aren’t special, people that don’t have tiger blood, you know, Adonis DNA”.
People who do not have HIV have the option of taking Truvada, a type of pre-exposure prophylaxis or PrEP that can reduce their risk of becoming infected by up to 96%.
“Charlie was not HIV positive at that time and tested negative two times after he got back from the tour”.
He said he was diagnosed about four years ago. It has been said that this kind of condom are not that effective protection for sexually transmitted disease.
Andrew D. Gilman, chief executive of CommCore Consulting, a crisis communications group, said that Sheen’s disclosure appeared to come from financial desperation and did little to fix his reputation as an erratic and irresponsible narcissist.
