‘Cheaters Look Up’ banner flies over Patriots training camp
The banner was in reference to Tom Brady’s four-game suspension upheld by the NFL this week for using deflated footballs in the AFC Championship game in January.
Regardless of your thoughts on Deflategate, you have to admit, a New York Jets blog flying a banner over New England Patriots training camp, which began Thursday, is creative.
When the Patriots hit the practice field Thursday morning to officially kick off their 2015 training camp, they did so with an unwelcome visitor soaring above. An Independent website called Jets Fan Media paid for a plane to fly over Gillette with a sign reading: “Cheaters look up”.
“The time has come for Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft to start dealing with reality”, Jason Koeppel, one of the fans behind the fly-over, told Metro New York. We’ll just have to wait to see what fun banners the Jets fans decide to send that day.
Oddly enough, the sign brought about so much popularity that Jets’ owner Woody Johnson was later asked it it played a part in the firing of the former general manager.
