Check out Faraday Future’s 1000 horsepower electric supercar
In one of the videos released today with the FFZERO1 concept, Faraday Future also showed the silhouette of an SUV that will likely be the company’s first production model.
Powering this all-electric racer are 4 quad core motors producing over 1,000-hp, propelling the FFZERO1 Concept from 0-60mph in less than 3-seconds, reaching a top speed of over 200mph.
Faraday Future has been making waves online despite the fact that its operations have been shrouded in secrecy in the past year.
The secret to Faraday is its innovative Variable Platform Architecture, or VPA. With a factory being built already north of Las Vegas and a full-speed ahead attitude, we’re sure we’ll be hearing more about the Future from Faraday very soon.
In an interview with CNNMoney, Faraday Future’s Head of Global Design Richard Kim noted the company is working toward full autonomy, a step Tesla made more feasible late in 2015 when it rolled out its Autopilot feature.
Elsewhere there’s plenty of carbon-fibre and an aerodynamic tunnel, which is also meant to allow for the flow of cool air over the battery and motors. If you’re still not impressed, the concept auto comes with autonomous driving functions, although it isn’t a fully-autonomous vehicle. Such customised configuration will enhance real time data visualisation and interaction, boasts Faraday Future. This strategic partnership will allow the two companies to create advanced electric vehicles by marrying technology and innovation in the automotive world through the use of technology, internet and cloud based programming and content derived for entertainment purposes.
Will the FFZERO1 ever see the light of day in the market and challenge, or even trump Tesla in the high-performance EV category? Jia Yueting, the founder of Letv, was said to be among the investors. However, the founders of Faraday Future have said they will invest $1 billion in its first production facility in Nevada, and employ 4,500.
Faraday’s head designer, who previously worked on BMW’s i3 and i8 cars, explained during the official presentation that the FFZERO1 integrates styling cues that will be end up on the company’s production cars scheduled to appear in the next few years.
