A few Star Wars fans are getting annoyed about the TV spots for The Force Awakens, but if you can resist watching this one, then you have will of steel! Well, director and co-writer J.J. Abrams was luckily on hand to explain just that to Entertainment Weekly, teasing that while it’s basically another Death Star, it’s capabilities extend much further, and are much, much deadlier.
Earlier this year he appeared unannounced at Comic-Con in the U.S., where he spoke about filming another Star Wars movie more than 30 years after his last outing as Han Solo. Regardless of who his family is, though, this latest TV spot gives fans the deepest look at the character of Finn and his mind-set as he gets ready to go to battle alongside Han Solo and Rey.
What do you think of the new Force Awakens Finn spot? “It takes more and more of it to have the same effect”.
The leadership for the First Order will be headed up by General Hux (played by Domhnall Gleeson) along with his chief enforcer and Darth Vader wannabe, Kylo Ren (played by Adam Driver).
“He’s kind of opposite Kylo Ren”, Gleeson revealed.
First Order stormtroopers will be on patrol to apprehend any Rebel scum. But more than that, it truly feels like it’s a proper Star Wars film, and that they’re treating it with the reverence it deserves while being unafraid to put their own spin on things.
