Chef and longtime television personality Anthony Bourdain has died at age 61
“It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain”, the news outlet stated in a press release.
Bourdain was filming an episode of Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown in Strasbourg, France at the time of his death.
Anthony Bourdain’s girlfriend Asia Argento posted a head-scratching image on social media mere hours before he died by suicide.
Bourdain became an outspoken advocate for the #MeToo movement after Argento revealed she had been sexually assaulted by the movie producer Harvey Weinstein. I think he showed Queens in all its uniqueness, the people and the community. I might have deluded myself into thinking that I’d be happy in a hammock or gardening. I’ve crossed the line, I have. “Maybe that I grew up a little”, he told the magazine.
During his time in Provincetown, Bourdain, who later went on to write the critically acclaimed book, “Kitchen Confidential“, shared a house on the beach with a group of high school friends.
Throughout the episode, Bourdain switches between his culinary explorations and highlighting the heroin epidemic in MA.

We need to treat these things like the health concerns they are and not just expect people to deal with them on their own. That’s where it all started for me. “I’m not going to be there for the important moments in your life”.

Spanish-American chef Jose Andres said: “You still had so many places to show us, whispering to our souls the great possibilities beyond what we could see with our own eyes”.
In that acclaimed book, Bourdain, who was born in New York City and raised in Leonia, New Jersey, candidly described his personal struggles, including drug use that led to his dropping out of Vassar College. The shit that drives addiction doesn’t just go away when you get clean, or when you get rich, or when you get famous… I am so very sad.
