Chelsea are targeting Rudiger, claims agent
The 22-year-old defender has been touted as a target for Chelsea in recent days, while Wolfsburg are also reported to be keen on signing the centre-half this summer.
Being a German global with 6 caps at 22 years old, Antonio Rüdiger is certainly an interesting prospect at centre-back, but his side wasn’t very good defensively whether or not he was involved, which is not a good sign if we’re looking for someone to fill in Terry’s shoes in a few years.
I know of interest from Chelsea and Wolfsburg.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho confirmed last month that he wants to add a defender to his squad this summer, and Rudiger is apparently among the players the Blues have been keeping an eye on. “Antonio would love to stay in Germany”, said the player’s agent, Sahr Senesie.
Rudiger, who has been capped six times by Germany, made 35 appearances for Stuttgart last season, scoring twice.
Rudiger has been tipped to look for a new challenge this summer and it appears he could be offered a fresh start here in England as the Express are reporting that Chelsea have tabled a formal £12.8m offer for his services.
The Blues are on the hunt for a new goalkeeper having lost veteran Petr Cech to London rivals Arsenal.
The Stuttgart star has had interest from a number of top European sides including Porto and Wolfsburg but has expressed a desire to join the Premier League Champions.
