Chelsea bid £17.5m for FC Augsburg defender Baba Rahman
According to Abdul Baba Rahman’s agent, the player is yet to complete his move from Augsburg to Chelsea.
The Ghanian, 21, has been linked with a move away from the Bundesliga club for months, with Juventus, Manchester City and the Premier League champions monitoring his progress.
The starlet was signed by Augsburg for just £1m from Greuther Furth last year and Rahman’s agent, Sascha Empacher, told The Guardian: ‘Both clubs are still working on fine-tuning but we hope the agreement will be finalised soon.’.
Chelsea have made Ghanaian full-back Rahman one of their top targets all summer having tracked him for some time.
Chelsea get their season underway in the Community Shield against Arsenal on Sunday while they face Swansea in their opening Premier League game next week.
According to reports, the Chelsea manager’s wish has been granted with the £15m capture of Baba.
Cesar Azpilicueta is Mourinho’s top left-back at present, and despite being naturally right-footed, the Spaniard has coped tremendously in his transition to the other side of the back four.
Will Rahman be a good signing for Chelsea?
