Chelsea Clinton accidentally calls Bernie Sanders ‘president’
The Democratic National Committee and host CNN announced on Sunday that the March 6 Democratic debate between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders will be held in Flint, Michigan.
JAKE TAPPER: You don’t have a position on it at all? DICKERSON: You’ve dismissed some of the issues that the press has tried to raise about Hillary Clinton – her emails for example. “I’m just going to work as hard as I can because I really believe in this process”.
Warren has said that Clinton had agreed with opposing the bankruptcy provision as first lady, but ultimately voted for it years later as a senator. She’d…look into it: Again, if she’s the paragon of transparency that she claims to be (snicker), and if her Wall Street speeches were as prophetic and civic-minded as she says, her campaign should be turning them into ads.
Earlier in the week, the Sanders campaign had forwarded to reporters comments and writings by Elizabeth Warren, the consumer advocate who is now a senator from MA. Sanders just narrowly lost to Hillary Clinton in Iowa’s Democratic caucus. “If anybody doesn’t know the difference between a contribution of $30 or $40 or a Super PAC which raises millions of dollars from Wall Street then frankly we don’t know what’s going on in politics today”, Sanders responded.
With the crucial New Hampshire primary in two days, Clinton is facing increased pressure to explain the six-figure paydays she received from financial firms and major corporations for private speaking engagements, specifically the $675,000 she was paid for three speeches to Wall Street behemoth Goldman Sachs after completing her tenure as secretary of state.
The campaign of primary challenger Vermont Sen. Clinton insisted her speeches promoted her own views, and at the time, she didn’t know she would be running for president. She suggests that experience helped her understand people’s anxieties. Secretary Clinton won this state in 2008.
Sanders did have a 2-to-1 edge in the latest CNN/WMUR New Hampshire tracking poll as recently as Saturday, but that margin narrowed slightly in a poll out Sunday. Boston Mayor Marty Walsh was dispatching dozens of organizers to the state while a number of veterans of past Clinton campaigns, including many from Arkansas, were knocking on doors and staffing phone banks this weekend. “I happen to share it”.
