Chelsea Clinton stands her mother’s ground in New Hampshire
Brian Fallon, a Hillary Clinton spokesman, said, “Their tax rate was over 35 percent in 2013, and she is proposing policies that would raise their taxes further”.
A New York Times/CBS poll showed the former secretary of state ahead of the Vermont senator by 48 percent to 41 percent nationally.
“I don’t pay attention to the polls”, Clinton insisted, even as she pushes back and rolls out some impressive firepower.
“But something extraordinary is happening here; there is a full-on rebellion at the grassroots level of the Democratic Party”, he said. There are some indications that already is happening, as Clinton’s lead in other nationwide polls against Sanders is shrinking. “She is now using the same Karl Rove tactics she once decried”, the statement said.
“The Clintons are starting to do stuff that’s stoking this rebellion”.
Eight years ago, Clinton regained her composure by winning in New Hampshire. Sanders’ campaign says that’s not true and going beyond it and David Axelrod weighed in and said it’s not an honest attack, not something they should have sent her out to do. And now we’re in the sprint and it is time to draw contrasts so that, look, there’s no comparison between what the democrats believe because we have some of the very same objectives compared to what the republicans are peddling, but there are substantive disheses between us and I want people to know about that.
Two recent surveys suggest Sanders has gained on Clinton in Iowa.
Clinton has recently sought to position herself as the candidate who is tougher on gun laws than her rivals and has attacked Sanders on his voting record on gun control measures, including his 2005 vote for legislation that shielded gun makers from lawsuits.
And don’t underestimate the importance of Iowa: Barack Obama’s victory there in January 2008 solidified him as a serious threat to Clinton. In his attempts to implement a system comparable to that of most other western countries, Sanders will undo the achievements of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, Clinton has argued.
In a rally in Ames, Iowa, on Tuesday, Clinton told supporters that it’s time to “get real” about the differences between her and Sanders.
This means that Clinton brought in nearly as much in speech fees from the health care industry as she did from the banking industry. And the betting markets continue to see Clinton as the overwhelming favorite.
The AP reported that Holder is joining Clinton on the campaign trail later this week, first at a state Democratic Party dinner in SC next Saturday.
The Vermont senator also replied to a criticism from Chelsea Clinton, who charged that his health care plan would empower Republican governors who could limit Medicare coverage.
“Bernie Sanders understands how pharmaceutical companies and major medical companies are ripping us off”, Cordes says. “We thought there would be a lot of women rallying to her side”.
Not included, as the Clinton campaign pointed out in a press call with reporters this afternoon, was how a President Sanders would fund his universal healthcare plan.
