Chelsea complete signing of Kenedy from Fluminense
Chelsea have announced the signing of Brazilian forward Kenedy from Fluminense, further adding to their squad before the transfer window closes this summer.
Kenedy featured for Chelsea against Barcelona in a pre-season fixture in Washington and clearly impressed Jose Mourinho and the powers that be at the London club as a permanent switch has been agreed.
The 19 year-old made 42 senior appearances for Fluminese, scoring 5 goals and attracting attention from some of the biggest clubs in Europe with Chelsea eventually landing him.
“I am very happy to complete my transfer to Chelsea”, he told his new club’s official site.
And the Brazil Under-20 global is relishing the chance to prove himself at Stamford Bridge.
Interestingly they have also confirmed that he will wear the number 16 shirt which suggests that he will be part of the first team rather than being sent out on loan.
The most likely scenario now is that Kenedy acts as back-up to Eden Hazard on the left with Willian and Ramires serving the same function for Pedro on the right.
