CHELSEA, Conte: “I’m focused only on Swansea game, the players are fit”
The 27-year-old has already picked up two yellow cards for dissent in his first three games this season and Conte is anxious he will end up losing the striker to suspensions. “We know tomorrow will be a good game and we will enjoy the game, but it’s most important to be focused on our game”.
“I like it when a player shows his passion for this sport”.
“It’s important to have six, seven, or eight defenders in a team like ours and make your choice every game, understanding who deserves to play”. “He worked with us last week, but he needs some days of slow training”.
Chelsea go to Swansea today with even their manager Francesco Guidolin warning his players not to get under his skin as they might pay a price.
Swansea lost their last two games before the global break, at home to Hull and at Leicester, after winning on the opening day of the season at Burnley.
“I watched the game and he played a good game against Belgium, against Liechtenstein”, Conte added.
Chelsea have already beaten West Ham United, Watford and Burnley in an impressive start to the new Premier League season ahead of their trip to South Wales in Sunday’s game. “We have prepared a different shape as well and we have to be ready to play well and get a result”.
“I think we have a good team, I am happy and now it is important to see the future with optimism”, he said.
‘Those other situations are not interesting for him, for me, for Chelsea, for the fans and for the national team.
“We will face a well-organised team with a good manager”.
Antonio Conte has been a revelation so far at Stamford Bridge. We have not had a lot of players (because of the global break), but I think we have worked well.
There will be a lot of pressure for the Spaniard to deliver this season, with his first game expected to be in this weekend’s clash with Chelsea. “We have to change this because the Premier League is very hard, but with my players I am confident”.
Now at Chelsea, he has slipped straight into the middle of midfield giving the whole Chelsea side an extra sense of reassurance every time he plays. “I think Chelsea this year will win the Premier League”.
