Chelsea defender Papy Djilobodji joins Werder Bremen on loan
The Bundesliga club announced the deal on Thursday without giving financial details.
Werder Bremen CEO Thomas Eichin has confirmed that they are negotiating a loan move with the Premier League outfit for the player.
Former Blues boss Jose Mourinho admitted the Senegal defender was signed on a recommendation.
Senegalese global Djilobodji was a surprise deadline day acquisition for the Blues but it has proved to be another very bad signing, as the centre-back has played just one minute of football for the Blues; coming on as a late substitute in the League Cup clash with Walsall.
Djilobodji made 184 appearances for Nantes before moving to Chelsea last summer. Despite the lack of defensive depth at Chelsea, Djilobodji is just not good enough to feature in the Premier League.
The 27-year-old will go from one relegation battle to another with Bremen sitting 16th out of 18 teams in Bundesliga.
Chelsea defender Papy Djilobodji has joined Werder Bremen on loan until the end of the season.
