Chelsea face Manchester City in FA Cup glamour tie
The draw for the fifth round of the FA Cup was made on Sunday evening and set up a mouth-watering encounter. City had eased to a comfortable 4-0 win at Aston Villa on Saturday.
Guus Hiddink remains unbeaten in the FA Cup having won the competition in his previous interim spell and he will certainly field a strong team. According to the fifth-round draw yesterday, Tottenham host Crystal Palace in a London derby between the Premier League teams, while Arsenal _ seeking a third straight FA Cup title _ are at home to Hull.
Holders Arsenal, bidding to become the first team since 1886 to win the FA Cup for three years in a row, will meet Championship side Hull City in the competition for the third year running.
Shrewsbury Town, battling against relegation from League One, scored two late goals to beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-2 on Saturday and are rewarded with a glamorous home tie against Manchester United, whose 11th and last triumph came in 2004.
Blackburn hosts either Liverpool or West Ham, which drew 0-0 on Saturday, while Watford faces Leeds, which won the cup in 1972 before a famous defeat in the following year’s final to unfancied Sunderland.
Ties to be played February 19-22.
The clash of the round will see seven-time winners, Chelsea, face Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.
Jurgen Klopp’s Reds will travel to Blackburn if they get the better of West Ham (25/1) at Upton Park in their fourth-round replay.
Mid-table Leeds haven’t been doing quite so well in the league and an away tie is far from ideal, but against a Watford side whose form has largely dropped off there could be scope for an upset at Vicarage Road.
