Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho not demanding funds for January transfer window
Bournemouth have never played in the Premier League before, and their manager, Eddie Howe, described the 1-0 victory as “the biggest result in the club’s history”.
Reports that Roman Abramovich summoned José Mourinho for a dressing-down have been rejected.
Despite the former Atletico Madrid striker’s influence, the defending champions ultimately slipped to an eighth league defeat of the campaign, with the west London club failing to score at home in the Premier League for the first time since May 2014.
Griezmann had been touted as a high-profile recruit for Chelsea in January as they attempt to turn their fortunes around after a disastrous start to the season, where the Blues have suffered ten defeats in all competitions and sit just two points above the Premier League’s relegation zone. “We didn’t deserve to lose this game”, Mourinho surmised. Chelsea or Porto, one will be out.
“I can just work and that is what I am going to do to try to get a result on Wednesday to get through to the next round of the Champions League”.
“The team was in a good moment, working well, playing well”. “We didn’t score against Stoke, we didn’t against Tottenham”.
Glenn Murray struck an 82nd-minute victor as the Cherries, enjoying their first ever top-flight season, edged out Jose Mourinho’s side to lift themselves out of the bottom three. Of course not scoring enough goals. “They proved last season they could score the goals the team needs”.
“To win here was a huge moment for us but we don’t want it to just be an isolated win”. “Before this game it was realistic to think that our quality would take us out of this position, but maybe now we have to think about top six”.
“We were really unlucky, especially to concede a goal when we don’t deserve”.
The difference in price of the assembled squads is enormous with the Blues lineup costing nearly 100 times more than that of the Cherries starting XI but Howe believes his side wanted the win more.
