Chelsea midfielder Lewis Baker recalled to England Under-21s squad
And Southgate has been able to select the majority of the squad who began the campaign with victories over USA U23s and Norway last month.
The Spurs midfielder was picked by Roy Hodgson for their final two Euro Qualifiers against Estonia and Lithuania, after an impressive start to the new season at White Hart Lane.
The duo were selected in Gareth Southgate’s last squad and both played prominent roles, and they will be hoping to feature once more when the Young Lions face their only game in October at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.
Lewis Baker – now on loan at Vitesse Arnhem from Chelsea – Hull’s Arsenal loanee Chuba Akpom and Brighton goalkeeper Christian Walton, on loan at Bury, have also been included.
“Dele was with us last month and it’s the very early stages for him still”, he added.
“He’s at a good club who are good at giving young English players their opportunity and that’s important to recognise”.
Filling in on the left-hand side, as opposed to his natural positioning of centre-half, however, the teenager has hardly put a foot wrong so far and has shown enough promise to suggest that he could form a fruitful partnership with countryman John Stones for the foreseeable future for Everton.
Galloway joined Everton from MK Dons in 2014 and made his debut at West Ham in May.
“We enjoyed working with him last month and I’m sure he’ll have a fantastic experience working with the seniors this month”.
“He has been really well looked after there and now at Tottenham and he’s adapting to life in the Premier League but he’s only had three starts there so you have to be cautious in terms of how much extra pressure we put on him”.
“But it’s a nice moment for him and his family to get a senior call-up”.
However, barring any unfortunate incidents in the Merseyside derby at the weekend, the makeshift left-back will be involved with the under-21 camp for their upcoming game against Kazakhstan in a European qualifier on October 13.
