Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas refuse handshake of Man United goalkeeper De Gea
Both Fabregas and Costa were in global action for Spain on Saturday night as they helped their country to a 2-0 win over Slovakia.
Pedro Rodriguez has backed Chelsea teammate Diego Costa to find his goal-scoring touch with Spain and to become a key player for the national team.
“We’re now the leaders [in Group C] and it’s likely we’ll qualify for the European Championship”, he said after the 2-0 win. The Chelsea hitman has found the net just once in his last eight global games leaving some questioning his place in the side.
Fabregas, who has made a subdued start to the Premier League season, posted the above photo and wrote the below caption. He’s good at creating space’.
He was taken off after 75 minutes and has been criticised in the press despite winning the penalty for Spain’s second goal of the game.
“Whatever helps me to play, and more so in my preferred position, I’m happy with”.
The 26-year-old failed to get on the scoresheet in Spain’s Euro 2016 qualifying win over Slovakia, and he was sad of not being “able to repay” the confidence of coach Vicente del Bosque.
