Chelsea’s Cuadrado headed back to Serie A with Juventus
The Colombian has been underwhelming for Chelsea since his £27m move last season, with the Blues believing he is now surplus to requirements for the foreseeable future.
Juventus’ director of football, Giuseppe Marotta has revealed that the team will be taking the winger for a loan spell back to the Italian Sere A for the 2015/16 campaign.
Cuadrado only joined the Stamford Bridge side in January, moving from Fiorentina in a deal worth €33m, but has failed to force his way into Jose Mourinho’s plans.
Marotta appears to have confirmed the deal, telling Sport Mediaset before the 1-0 defeat to Udinese: “Cuadrado will arrive on loan”.
Cuadrado is expected to arrive for a medical on Monday.
The Colombia worldwide has made just four Premier League starts and 15 appearances overall, failing to score in any competition. “It will be a loan for the season”, he said.
“The opportunity to get Cuadrado presented itself and we took it. Now it’s up to Allegri, who is an excellent Coach”. We work on the market in complete harmony with him. We will see the opportunity but, at the moment, there is veto from Schalke.
Marotta did not clarify whether the loan deal will have the option for Juventus to purchase the player outright next summer, an arrangement Chelsea recently made with Roma and Mohamed Salah.
But Cuadrado has found playing time limited in west London.
