Chelsea striker set to move to Premier League rivals Crystal Palace
Unfortunately for Remy, it would appear that Guus Hiddink is reluctant to let him leave.
With Pato on the verge of arriving at Stamford Bridge, Remy is now clear to leave the club.
The Gazette reported on the club’s interest in taking the France global on a six-month loan earlier this month.
Hiddink said: “He will stay until the end of the season”. I have seen little of him because he repeatedly fell into injury.
Crystal Palace are favourites to sign Chelsea striker Loic Remy and could pip Newcastle and Swansea to his services. “I hope he will deliver if he is needed”.
But Remy has been linked with wanting to secure a move away from Chelsea in search of more first team action as he is keen to find a berth in the France squad for Euro 2016.
Newcastle are also close to signing Andros Townsend from Tottenham Hotspur, according to Sky Sports.
Second-from-bottom Newcastle are desperate to add a striker to their ranks, with Saido Berahino and Alexandre Lacazette among their targets.
The former OGC Nice and Olympique de Marseille hitman represented Newcastle on loan during the 2013-14 season, scoring 14 goals in 26 league outings.
