Chelsea To Sack Jose Mourinho During global Break Week
“We were Premier League champions last season… maybe it is a mental problem”.
The Serbian has come under intense criticism this season from both Jose Mourinho and the media, but remains in the Chelsea side when he’s available purely because he’s the best they have in his position.
Reigning champions of England, Chelsea travelled to the Britannia Stadium on Saturday, as they were keen on changing things around in the league, after a win mid-week in the Champions League.
Handed a one-game stadium ban by the English Football Association for berating referee Jon Moss at half time during his side’s recent defeat at West Ham United, Mourinho watched the match at a nearby hotel.
Mourinho has two weeks in which to prepare for the visit of Norwich City following the global break.
Mourinho, who signed a new four-year contract in August, thanked Abramovich for his support in October following a defeat at home by Southampton.
Unlike many, however, Gullit believes that Mourinho remains the man to turn things around at Stamford Bridge – but he must first face up to his own failings and mistakes, and stop blaming his players.
Le Saux added: “Costa looks very isolated and he wants to have a fight with anyone at any moment on the pitch, even when he is not being wound up”.
“You know at a few point they will ask questions of you – they have fantastic individual talent within a great team”.
In his absence, assistant first-team coaches Steve Holland, Silvino Louro and Rui Faria took charge of Chelsea, but Begovic was the only member of the visitors’ party who spoke to the media after the game. “Tactically they played into Stoke’s hands”.
Hughes said: “They are going through a surprising period for them”.
The Red Devils are competing at the top of the Premier League but their lack of goals and turgid style of play is the likely reason behind that.
