Chevrolet Announces 2016 Colorado Midnight Edition
This is where the Midnight Edition and the Z71 Trail Boss special 2016 Colorado models come into play.
As on the 1/2-ton, the Colorado Midnight includes cosmetic upgrades like a blacked-out grille, sinister 18-inch aluminum wheels, and black bowtie Chevrolet emblems. In addition, there’s a spray-on bedliner and a soft, folding tonneau cover along with Chevrolet-logo sill plates. Along with the aforementioned updates, new for 2016 is the Colorado Midnight Edition, giving the hot-selling pickup some added visual attitude like that of its big brother, the Silverado Midnight Edition. Pricing for the new package has yet to be announced.
The 2016 Colorado Z71 Trail Boss builds on the capability of Chevrolet’s Z71 off-road truck suspension package with more aggressive tires and off-road-inspired appearance enhancements.
Both the Midnight and Z71 Trail Boss Colorado will be available with extended or crew cabs, in two-wheel or four-wheel drive and with the 2.5-liter, four-cylinder, 3.6-liter V-6 or the new 2.8-liter Duramax turbo-diesel engine.
The 2016 Chevrolet Colorado is getting two special edition models. The same engine lineup, as the one in the Colorado Midnight Edition, is also available. Dark plastic fender flares give the Trail Boss an aggressive appearance, along with a new bed-mounted sport bar with LED trail lighting. It also features a black bowtie grille emblem and a spray-on bedliner, and a set of all-weather floor mats inside the truck.
The other package will be the Chevrolet Colorado Z71 package.
Through July this year, Colorado sales have totaled 48,784, including more than 7,200 sold in July.
Founded in 1911 in Detroit, Chevrolet is now one of the world’s largest auto brands, doing business in more than 115 countries and selling around 4.8 million cars and trucks a year.
