Chevrolet Camaro Red Line Concept Shows Off Its Street-Smart Style
The 2015 SEMA Show, taking place in Las Vegas, is almost upon us.
One area that Chevrolet is understandably quiet is the powertrain.
The Spark is not a model anyone would consider sporty, but the Spark RS concept is a completely different animal. The auto is painted Dark Liquid Switchblade Silver under custom graphics. The obligatory red “RS” badges grace the rear hatch and the front grille.
Visual enhancements include a busy looking bumper with glossy black foglight enclosures, sharp chin air splitter, LED infused projector headlamps, 17-inch Corvette inspired alloy wheels, eccentric black racing stripe, roof-mounted spoiler and a black diffuser with interesting exhaust tip. The final touch (at least the last bit that Chevy is revealing now) is the lowered suspension that gives the spark a more planted look.
“Every Chevrolet has the DNA of the Corvette and the Spark RS concept shows how the brand’s smallest auto can deliver big on personalization”, said Chevy design director Todd Parker.
While the stock engine of the 2016 Chevrolet Spark reflects is humble price tag at 1.4L four-cylinder that churns 98hp. Basically, Chevrolet has thrown on the RS package found on a few other Chevrolet models including the Camaro, Sonic and Cruze.
The concept mixes production and concept accessories that Chevrolet developed in house, and the brand says it will be keeping a close eye on reactions on a few of the concept accessories the concept displays. I suspect it will get rave reviews, given it has a power boost, and will make it to production.
We’re on the eve of that automotive Bacchanalia known as the SEMA Show, and the publicity machines are in full throttle ahead of the show.
