Chevy Chase enters rehab for ‘tuneup’ on alcohol problem
His representative confirmed the actor was getting help for an “alcohol-related problem”, which she described as a “tune-up”.
His spokesperson added that he “wants to be the best person that he can be”.
It comes two years after his fellow comic actor Robin Williams checked in to Hazelden in Minnesota, about five weeks before his death in August 2014.
It was not Chase’s first public beef.
Hazelden, located 45 miles northeast of Minneapolis, and the Betty Ford Center merged in 2014 combining its network of 15 care centers in nine states, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported.
In 1986, the star, who made his name on the long-running USA series Saturday Night Live, checked into the Betty Ford drug clinic in California.

“I was pretty low-level when it came to drug abuse”, Chase said. While he kept the details to a minimum, he did say that he “never shot things up or freebased”.
