Chicago Bears Rumors: Kevin White, Alshon Jeffery Injuries Hurt Jay Cutler
The last time the Bears made the playoffs was in 2010 with Mike Martz as the offensive coordinator.
Even more interestingly, while the Bears’ offense is rarely viewed in this light, six of those nine returning starters – Jay Cutler, Matt Forte, Alshon Jeffery, Martellus Bennett, Jermon Bushrod and Kyle Long – have been to at least one Pro Bowl. Marshall ultimately joined Cutler with the Bears and have become the primary participant in franchise historical past to document a number of 100-catch seasons (2012, ’13). “That’s how they made the team and that’s why they were always running down on kickoffs and stuff like that”.
“The guys have done a really good job”, said Cutler, “of learning this system, because it’s not an easy system”. It just wasn’t fair to those guys.
The 2014 Chicago Bears will forever be remembered more for their dysfunction than their on-field exploits, and one of the main contributors from last year’s team weighed in Thursday with what he thought went wrong.
“In Jay’s defense, whether you like Jay or you don’t like Jay, there just weren’t any players here”, Martz said. “I felt like that is something we could have built on”.
RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) – Exactly one year ahead of the start of Rio de Janeiro’s Olympics, Mayor Eduardo Paes said on Wednesday that all the venues are running on schedule and will be delivered in time for next year’s games &… “So when you look at the receivers and the offensive line, it’s pretty remarkable what he was able to do over the years”.
This is preseason drama at its finest, and it has no bearing on what takes place this fall, but it’s interesting nonetheless and it says plenty about just how much vitriol permeated the Bears’ locker room at the end of last season.
It’s apparent intends to use Cutler’s ability to move out of the pocket and throw.
“There’s times where he looks unstoppable”, Gase said. The time was then for us to take advantage of that. Gase counts Steve Mariucci as a mentor as well.
Bayless twice asked him what was wrong with Cutler, and on the second time, Marshall got specific. “But right now as far as what our offensive line’s done, I feel really good about it”. He wanted to get a sense for how Cutler handled certain things. They were telling me that they play video games now and they have another screen where people watch them play video games.
Cutler is in need of a successful season in 2015. Martz believes it will happen but if we’ve learned anything it’s that predictions are about as useful as those platitudes.
