Chiefs’ goal-line stand preserves 10-3 victory over Chargers

Driving late in the fourth quarter, the Chargers got inside the five-yard line, but Rivers was unable to hook up with Danny Woodhead in the end zone on the final play of the game as time ran off the clock.

The Chiefs are projected to easily win this match against the hapless Chargers.

Alex Smith threw for 191 yards and a touchdown, along with his first interception after a franchise-record 312 attempts.

So, what can San Diego look to accomplish other than not embarrass itself as it did just two weeks ago when the teams met in Southern California?

If they again have to make their way in the rain, they’ll probably need to play better than they did against the Chargers in order to win.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs blasted the Oakland Raiders with a come-from-behind 34-20 win at the O.co Coliseum also last Sunday, as per USA Today.

On a wet day built for power football, the Chiefs ran for 150 yards against a Chargers (3-10) defense that entered Sunday’s game at Arrowhead Stadium ranked third-worst in the league with 4.7 yards allowed per carry.

Prediction: Chiefs win, 28-14.
