Chiefs’ Jeremy Maclin: Faces uphill battle to play Saturday
While he has eight interceptions and made the Pro Bowl, Peters gave up two big plays at Houston last week and has allowed seven touchdown passes. Many Chiefs fans felt the easier road for the team would be playing at Denver this week since the last experience the Chiefs had in Denver was a rout of the Broncos back on Sunday, Nov. 15th. Duvernay-Tardif suffered the head trauma in the second quarter of last week’s postseason game against Houston.
The Chiefs began the season 1-5 but have not lost since, reeling off 11 consecutive victories, including their first playoff win since 1993. He missed the season’s final five games because of a hyper-extended knee. Brady hurt his ankle in their regular season finale against Miami but will play at less than 100%. But he was working off to the side and not participating in drills with the other wide receivers. He had three receptions for 27 yards in KC’s 30-0 win over the Houston Texans in the AFC Wild Card Round before getting injured.
The Patriots aren’t the only team banged up entering Saturday’s divisional round game against the Chiefs, as Kansas City is dealing with a good amount of injuries themselves. The Chiefs have seen success with what Coach Andy Reid calls “next man up”.
Officially Maclin is a game-time decision, but from the sound of things, owners in daily leagues would be wise to look elsewhere at wide receiver.
That’s What I REID Into It for this week.
