Chiefs make Eric Berry highest-paid National Football League safety with $78M deal
The free agent market for running backs just received another boost.
Adrian Peterson: The Eagles presumably discuss every player that is set to become a free agent, and as of Tuesday, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is now on that list. Spiller – and one non-traditional hybrid player – Tyreek Hill. He has the team’s single-game rushing record (259 against Denver in 2010). Charles rushed for 233 yards in that 2012 game against the Saints and 226 later that season against the Indianapolis Colts.
Charles tallied 9,717 scrimmage yards and 64 total touchdowns with the Chiefs. What do you think, Chiefs Kingdom?
But Hill will pitch in. He averaged over 10 yards per run and scored three times on 24 handoffs!
Those are under the radar players who will continue to develop. Even the reduced pounding his body endured over the last eight seasons (along with two ACL tears) zapped him of that game-breaking speed that was so much fun to watch. The Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Quebec native was drafted in the sixth round (200th overall) by the Chiefs in 2014.
Tony Jefferson is now the top safety on the market, but this move may make him a lot more expensive than the Bucs are comfortable with. Cook has the potential to be one of the most risky running backs in the National Football League, as he was a threat to take it to the house whenever he touched the ball in college. Charles has carried the ball more than 250 times in a season only twice in his career.
Asked by The Star later that summer about his speech, Charles said, “I was just trying to inspire people and give back to the people who are going through things in life”. But that doesn’t mean he won’t draw interest. Could he catch 50 passes for 600 receiving yards and a handful of touchdowns? Charles would also have a nice time in NY because of the committee behind him, allowing him to stay healthier, and who doesn’t want to live the NY lifestyle. Charles, coming of multiple knee surgeries, would allow him to ease back into full play. If he can’t stay healthy, he’ll be a waste on a Fantasy roster.
But singing Charles is counter-productive to what Philadelphia is trying to do this offseason.
The Chiefs are taking a risk with the length of the contract and the amount of money.
