Chiefs’ Reid says Jamaal Charles still iffy for opener
Cook’s comparisons to Chiefs five-time 1,000 plus yard running back didn’t end with just one National Football League general manger, as an NFC West scout made the same comparison. For DFS purposes in Week 1 against the San Diego Chargers, Ware is no worse than a solid RB2, with plenty of RB1 upside.
Jamaal Charles might not suit up in Week 1. Expect a huge spike in these projections.
With the news this week that Charles rehab from surgery to fix a torn ACL is taking longer than expected, is Spencer Ware a must grab handcuff if you draft Charles?
The Chiefs have three key players – running back Jamaal Charles, outside linebacker Tamba Hali and safety Eric Berry – who have not played during the preseason but have been practicing.
Considering this success, we can see why the Chiefs are not being too quick to rush the 29-year-old Charles back into action. As much of a star as Charles is, this situation is easily survivable.
While it might have been hopeful to think he’d be ready for the opener, the Chiefs have a deep running back room.
Kansas City’s rushing attack ranked sixth overall last season, averaging 127.8 yards per game. “I’d go game to game with him but if there’s ever a great time for him to be hit or miss for fantasy, it’s early”.
The more critical news here just might be Hali’s recovery from his own knee surgery, which occured several months after Charles’.
