Chinese Side Close In On Big-Money Signing of Chelsea Midfielder
The Brazilian has several interested suitors around Europe, with Juventus and Borussia Dortmund amongst those linked, but the player been swayed by the big-money offer to play under former Chelsea full-back Dan Petrescu in Asia.
The Chelsea midfielder Ramires is set to join the Chinese Super League club Jiangsu Suning for a whopping fee of around 25 million pounds. Ramires would join a growing list of Brazilians plying their trade in China, including former Tottenham midfielder Paulinho, who plays for Guangzhou Evergrande.
The Barclays Premier League champions paid £18m for Ramires in 2010, and he signed a new four-year deal in October.
He has made 247 appearances for Chelsea since being signed from Benfica for £19m.
However, the 28-year-old has slipped down the pecking order in west London this term and hasn’t started a league game since mid December, while new manager Guus Hiddink appears to favour John Obi Mikel.
Ramires has won the FA Cup, Premier League, League Cup and the UEFA Europa League with Chelsea.
