Chinese telcos tease dual-SIM support on the upcoming iPhone
Apple’s iPhone keynote starts at 10AM PT, 1PM ET, 6PM GMT, 7PM CET and 10:30PM IST on September 12.
China Mobile will also offer dual SIM iPhones as it hints with this cheeky image that it posted on its Facebook page.
According to the image, the iPhone X Plus will retail for 8388 yuan ($1724 AUD), the XS for 7388 yuan ($1,518 AUD) and the XC for 5888 yuan ($1210 AUD).
The new iPad Pros, rumored to come in a new 11-inch and 12.9-inch models, will reportedly ship with an 18-watt USB-C charger. Last year, the lowest-spec iPhone X retailed for $999 in the United States, but R20 499 here. If this pricing comes to pass, the discounts expected on the new iPhones that many saw as a way to reach out to iPhone fans alienated by the high prices of last year’s new iPhones were wrong. The Plus version of the iPhone X will be named iPhone XS Plus. The 6.1-inch iPhone would also have the edge-to-edge screen and Face ID, the face-detecting security feature that replaces a fingerprint sensor.
We’re now insanely close to another big Apple event, and while the interest seems slightly muted this year, we’re expecting a few big products to appear.
On Friday, Apple stock fell on an announcement from the company indicating that the new tariffs on China, championed by President Donald Trump, would hurt its business. That hedging phrase leaves the possibility wide open that the iPhone could be called something else.
Apple’s flagship iPhone X may get a minor upgrade this year, but the company could expand its core design elements into a line of phones — with names that sound like confusing clothing sizes.
Apple may throw a wrench in its usual iPhone naming scheme by using letters (and Roman numerals) instead of numbers.
According to current information, the iPhone XC would still cost around $700 and would, therefore, be just as expensive as the iPhone 8. Nearly $10bn (£7.7bn) worth of Apple shares are now out on loan after a recent increase in shorting, according to data from.
Apple is also believed to be preparing to an unleash the iPhone XC, which will be a cheaper model with the same edge-to-edge screen as the iPhone X, but with an LED screen instead of an OLED displayed.
