Chris Ivory returns to Jaguars after ‘challenging time’ in hospital
He was released from the hospital on Tuesday and he released a statement about the incident for the first time on Thursday.
Ivory says “I appreciate everyone’s sensitivity during this personal matter and I’m ready to be back out on the field and look forward to doing so in the near future”.
Ivory, who signed a five-year, $32 million deal with the Jaguars in the offseason, returned to the team facility Thursday, did not practice and was not present at the Jaguars’ walk-through Friday.
Along with running back Chris Ivory (general medical issue), starting cornerback Prince Amukamara will be held out of the game on the West Coast with a hamstring injury. “We’ll see, but I just think that the arrow will be down”. Yeldon ran for 39 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries in the Jaguars’ 27-23 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
“I’m looking to be back soon”, Ivory said, adding of the season opener, “I would have loved to be out there and contribute and help the team win”. Per ESPN’s Michael DiRocco on Twitter, coach Gus Bradley said “it would be tough” for Ivory to play. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport previously reported the issue was unrelated to the calf trouble that landed Ivory in the questionable section of the team’s injury report. Leo defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. missed practice with an illness but Bradley said he expects Fowler to play Sunday.
