Christiano Ronaldo sends signed Real Madrid shirt to Nepal natural disaster victim
A nice touch from Ronaldo, but let’s not forget the other people that went out of their way to make this happen.
Ronaldo: “The thing I love the most in this world is beyond any doubt being able to play football with my son”, revealed the Real Madrid forward, just before adding up that he also gets most of his inspiration from the people who he works with every day in Madrid.
During his stint with United, the Portugal captain flew to Indonesia after seeing footage of a young tsunami survivor wearing his famous number seven shirt and helped raise money for the reconstruction of the devastated country.
The shirt, which was delivered earlier this week, carries the message: “Jetin be strong, best wishes”.
The story of the boy who kept playing through devastation was told to Mendes and it kicked off a series of events that led to Ronaldo’s signed shirt and wishes making it all the way to Nepal.
When the Nepal natural disaster struck in spring, 13-year-old Jetin Shrestha was playing football with friends. Respondents to a fans’ poll on the website of local sports paper AS said they would leave Bale out of their ideal Madrid XI – with Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo, James Rodriguez and Isco taking up the four attacking slots in Benitez’s preferred 4-2-3-1 system.
“The fans are good with me, and it is a dream for me to play for Real Madrid“, Bale says during the preview piece.
The little boy is an amputee, having lost his legs when the rubble of a police school collapsed on him during the Nepal natural disaster.
