Christie cancels NH campaign events because of blizzard
He called it leadership.
Christie has focused much of his campaigns resources on New Hampshire. “Once I heard the storm was going to be potentially two feet of snow, I knew where I had to be and I went home”.
Mr. Christie has a 31 percent approval rating among New Jersey residents, a record low for his tenure as governor.
New Jersey governor Chris Christie plans to enjoy the weekend campaigning in New Hampshire while his home state braces for the worst winter storm in years. “I tell everybody who goes to a Donald Trump event, if you get to ask a question, just ask him ‘How? Van Drew and informed him that… you can’t do that”, Christie said.
Keep in mind that Christie has been (rightly) attacking Sen.
During his first year in office, Christie sparked criticism from Democrats for traveling to Walt Disney World with his family as a storm arrived.
Since Christie started his campaign for the White House – and failed to catch fire in the polls – many in his home state have said he should quit the race and return to his day job.
Christie has largely made a name for himself for his response to major storms in his state – telling constituents to “get the hell off the beach” during Hurricane Irene, and for the state’s response to Hurricane Sandy in 2012.
Instead, in the middle of a state of emergency, Christie bashed “selfish” Shore homeowners dealing with ice and flooding for blocking the building of protective dunes. In his brief time in City Hall, de Blasio has become infamous for jetting out of town.
There are concerns the snow will down trees and wires, causing power outages.
Children’s clothing store owner Maggie Day sprayed an anti-bacterial mix over her ruined merchandise as she surveyed the damage to her shop in Stone Harbor in Cape May County. “All of the flooding receded yesterday morning”.
He had been in the midst of a jam-packed campaign schedule in New Hampshire, where he is hoping for a strong showing in the nation’s first presidential primary on February 9.
“There is no residual damage, there is no residual flooding damage”.
As somebody who is having a hands-on experience with the storm, I wondered what you thought of that.
So to recap, Christie reluctantly abandoned his presidential campaign and marched back to New Jersey like a petulant child being told to clean his room.
