Christmas message: AME Church
The minister, talking to audience which had arrived to see the peace train at Lahore Railway station, said that the goal of the train was to spread the message of peace, tolerance and love all over the nation.
Web Desk: The Christians are celebrating Christmas around the world today with full religious fervor.
Today, that original message of Christmas often seems to take a back seat to this reality: the malls, the shopping, the lights, the trees, the glitter and that jolly old elf, Santa Claus.
“In our prayers, we prayed for peace and prosperity of our country as well as mankind”, he told The Daily Star at Kakrail Church.
Mankind is a great, an enormous family; this is proven by what we feel in our hearts at Christmas. He summarizes his Christmas preparations for us in the words of the Gospel of John 1:14. “The decorating, the giving of gifts, the parties, the gathering of families and the sharing of meals and memories around the table”. The child Jesus represents so much about God: God’s tenderness, God’s compassion, God’s willingness to be vulnerable for us. (Romans 3:23) No matter how hard we try, sin still fills our lives daily. Look at how God comes to you. The good news Great News is that God has made it possible for man to have eternal life with the Father. While their appearance in the real story of how our Saviour came to earth is short, we can still learn something from them.
As we contemplate a world whose future feels uncertain, we need to remember the world into which Jesus was born. Forbes notes that biblical scholars overwhelmingly say there’s no proof Jesus was born on December 25, and he believes Christians simply chose to celebrate Jesus’s birth when they were already celebrating.
What gives God glory gives us peace. And… it is for all of us, at every age and in every circumstance, because we are beloved, deeply loved children of God. Jesus is our Savior. There’s no mention of shepherds and angels, no account of magi, or no mention of a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger because there was no room in the inn for the young family. He came so that he could perfectly fulfill all the commands of God’s Law in our place. You see, for us, it’s the message that we want to share with all; that Jesus is the reason for the season!
In the coming of Jesus, the Word was made man, the God-man.
Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, says it is important for Nigerians to embrace the virtues of love, charity and peaceful co-existence that the Christmas celebrations symbolises.
The Dec. 4 sermon focused on the events leading up to the birth of Jesus Christ and although the North Point Community Church pastor doesn’t deny the virgin birth, he said he wanted to acknowledge the viewpoint of individuals who are skeptical about it.
