Christmas parade, tree lighting is Friday, December 4
Visits are free, but there is not a professional photograph on hand this year, so parents will have to take their own photos, Wehrung said.
On Saturday, King will continue its kick off for the holiday season with the annual Christmas Parade at 2 p.m. All units need to be lighted and must maintain the Christmas theme and spirit.

The girl and boy winners of the Lil’ Miss Christmas and Lil’ Mr. Christmas contests are to be announced at 3 p.m.in a ceremony at First United Methodist Church, 620 Leahy. The Burleson Rotary Club’s Parade of Lights steps off from Kerr Middle School at 6 p.m. Entry fees range from $10-$45.
“The Jaycees approached us asking for participation and in past years we considered involvement, but never knew the cause”, Duncan said. It brings a lot of the rural area out into the community.
“I love the fact that families can stay close to home and ring in the holidays with their neighbors”.
The parade will turn north off Main Street and onto Robins Street, then go east to the arena on Jefferson Street.
The Nacogdoches Lighted Christmas Parade gets underway at 6:30 Saturday night. 1-2:30 p.m. Story time and crafts with Santa at The Museum. Festivities include special music at the gallery by violinist Joseph Brunjes, demonstrations of basket weaving by Kim Clayton, weaving and spinning by Stephanie Ellis-Wise and characterures by Mark Bowman.

The Tree Lighting begins on Friday evening at 5 p.m. Michael C. Riley Elementary School students will sing at the event. At Hodge Podge, located at 251 Main Street, a paint and sip will be held, and at The Tin Ceiling, located 329 Main Street, cookie decorating will take place.
