Christmas without Lego? The horror!
A shortage of Lego bricks could see the popular building blocks go absent from Christmas stockings as the Danish toy manufacturer struggles to churn out enough stock to meet rising demand.
Lego has announced that current orders will be met but the company is unsure that they’ll be able to file new orders in the coming months.
“Our factories are running on maximum capacity globally, but the demand has been bigger than we expected”, Trangbæk said.
Blaming the production difficulties on a failure to accurately forecasting demand, Mr Trangbaek said the toy company had not foreseen that there would be a surge in demand this Christmas.
If this were a holiday movie, the trailer now would likely now cut to Bradley Cooper rallying the townspeople to ensure all of those orders are met. But it’s not, and so all LEGO can do is push ahead at full steam.
He added that “select countries in Europe” could be affected but refused to comment on whether that included the United Kingdom or which toys could be hit.
The LEGO Group has experienced an 18 percent increase in global sales growth in the first half of 2015 alone.

Lego has profited considerably as a result of the company’s links with various blockbuster movies and Star Wars is no exception.
LEGO is also set on doubling the capacity of its Hungary facility by 2016 and has invested in updating and modifying its factory in its headquarters in Denmark.
The company has come out saying that they’re facing a shortage of their Lego bricks, according to CNN Money.
