Chuck Schumer says he will Oppose Iran Deal
The US can not persuade countries like India and China to join the Iranian sanctions regime again, Secretary of State John Kerry on Wednesday said as he warned the Congress against rejecting the nuclear deal with Iran.
The group plans to run TV ads in several states, targeting lawmakers who have said they are undecided about whether or not they will support Obama’s Iranian nuclear deal. “The rest of the world would likely pursue workarounds to inoculate themselves from the sanctions, which would have the effect of weakening and isolating the US”, Abdi said.
The United States and the other four permanent members of the United Nations Security Council plus Germany, struck a deal with Tehran on Iran’s nuclear program on July 14 in Vienna. Iran has always denied that it is developing nuclear weapons and has often highlighted that countries should not cross the red line of its nuclear program during the negotiations.

Here’s the president from his American University speech: “Congressional rejection of this deal leaves any U.S. administration that is absolutely committed to preventing Iran from getting a nuclear weapon with one option – another war in the Middle East”. In a high profile split with the president, New York Senator Chuck Schumer denounced the deal.
Congress has until September 17 to vote on the agreement and lobbying on both sides remains robust.
On the other hand, the Obama administration picked up support on Monday from Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota.
At least eight House Democrats, including New York Representative Eliot Engel, and that state’s senior Democratic senator, Charles Schumer, have announced they will oppose the agreement.
The White House “decided that there is no basis to compromise with the Republicans, who are going to oppose this agreement no matter what”, he said.
Among the reasons Schumer cited for his opposition, he did not like that Iran could delay inspections of so-called undeclared sites for up to 24 days. Almost half (48%) of people familiar with the deal said they are dissatisfied with it, according to a Pew Research Center survey. It’s much, much harder to see why Obama believes he knows what’s in Israel’s interests better than the Israelis do.
Dr Haq said that the Iran nuclear agreement was one of the most significant events of the decade and would have crucial ramifications for the regional balance of power as was clear by a strong opposition to the deal by Israel and Saudi Arabia.
