Cilla Black: Alan Sugar tells Katie Hopkins to shut up after controversial
While the online argument between them was brief, Hopkins made sure she had the last word on the subject, even if her tweet was not directed at Sugar.
“Using the hashtag “#RushToGush”, the “Celebrity Big Brother” runner-up wrote: “If there are any celebrities who haven’t yet tweeted their sadness over Cilla, please report to Sincerity Services immediately”.
Cilla Black rose to fame as a singer in the 1960s, with several number ones, and became a household name after presenting TV programmes including Blind Date. This second declaration obviously didn’t go unnoticed by Sugar, however, as he hit back at Hopkins by retweeting her statement and adding “why don’t you shut up you idiot!”
But Katie wasn’t impressed.
To which Sir Alan wrote: “Enough with the controversy BS you need to know where to draw the line”.
And Lord Sugar’s outburst wasn’t enough to put an end to Katie’s attack on any stars who dared tweet about the loss of Cilla. “This was too far”.
Spanish police confirmed yesterday that she had passed away in the Costa del Sol region of the country.
After hearing of her Twitter remarks over Cilla Black’s sad death, the Apprentice boss decided it was time to tell his former contestant what he really thought.
Her sudden death at her home in the south of Spain has left friends, family and the British public in shock.
