Cilla Black lands number one album- 24 hours after her funeral
Record label boss Dan Chalmers of Rhino, East West & ADA, UK said: “This Number 1 is a reflection of the special place Cilla Black occupied in the hearts of the British public and a fitting tribute to an icon who shaped popular music and entertainment”.
“I’m a huge Cilla fan”, he told The Sunday.
Her funeral on Thursday was attended by a host of celebrities, including Sir Cliff Richard, who sang during the service in Black’s native Liverpool, England.
“Suddenly, from nowhere, this spontaneous round of applause erupted from where her fans had gathered in the background”.
Dale was last seen hosting The National Lottery: In It To Win It in April, but his stumbling appearance caused fans and viewers to take to social media and ask ‘Is Dale Winton OK?’
Winton was tied down by BBC filming commitments in Scotland. “The light went off and it hasn’t come back on yet”.
The 75-year-old comedian – who had been close friends with the late singer and TV presenter for over five decades before her tragic death earlier this month – paid tribute to her as he arrived at her funeral in Liverpool this afternoon (20.08.15).
“Andrew, Jimmy and Jo were upset enough after saying goodbye to a dear friend without having to deal with callous idiots using her funeral as a star-spotting day out”.
“She was wonderful to be around, and caring, kind and happy”.
One fan, Shane Robinson, was has been criticised after uploading photographs and filmed footage onto his public Facebook page. “My thoughts and best wishes are with her beloved boys and family”. The images, which have since been deleted along with his account, included close-up photos of her coffin and flowers left by her loved ones, according to the Sunday.
