City attorney: No charges filed against Ezekiel Elliott in domestic violence investigation
Elliott’s father, Stacy Elliott, tweeted the following: “My son has been vindicated!”
Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott will not face charges after his ex-girlfriend alleged multiple instances of domestic violence.
Samuel noted Thompson later deleted the Instagram posts and switched her account from public to private. In his statement to police, Elliott said the woman told him, “I am going to ruin your career, you have messed with the wrong person!”
On Friday July 22, 2016, [complainant’s name redacted], in conjunction with a previously publicized Columbus Police report, filed an intake complaint with the City Attorney’s Office, Prosecutor Division.
According to the Columbus City Attorney’s Office, Elliott has been cleared of all five alleged incidents with his former girlfriend Tiffany Thompson “due to conflicting and inconsistent information across all incidents resulting in concern regarding the sufficiency of the evidence to support the filing of criminal charges”.
However, Elliott denied the allegations in the report, saying she suffered the injuries during a bar fight.
Elliott, who has maintained his innocence, told authorities at the time that he never touched Thompson in “a harmful manner”. She also claimed she had lived with the 21-year-old National Football League rookie for approximately three months.
The report stated that one female witness, sitting in the passenger seat of the vehicle, did not observe the suspect assault the victim.
