City stores buzz as Leeds goes Xmas shopping insane

According to the International Council of Shopping Centers based in NY, the unusually warm weather for this time of year is a double edged sword when it comes to shopping.

With time running out for online orders, shoppers will cram into malls across Britain to snap up toys, clothes, gadgets and jewellery in an eleventh hour splurge before Christmas.

With only a week left before Christmas, shoppers packed stores. That includes Super Saturday, the Saturday before Christmas, which unseated Black Friday a year ago as the busiest shopping day of the season, according to ShopperTrak, which monitors shopper visits at more than 1,200 retailers.

Some say children’s appetite for technology is making Christmas more expensive this year.

The most popular app used for comparison is Amazon – with more than three quarters (82%) of shoppers saying they use the app to look for better prices online.

Only one week until Christmas, for some, that means you’re wrapping up the holiday shopping. She said she often waits until the last week before Christmas.
